Protection app for your smartphone

It's interesting to note how dependent we've all become to our smartphones. These little, slim electronic devices are capable of so much and contain such vital information. Our contacts, social calendar, emails, birthdates, you-name-it, are all saved in there. Not only can we place calls but we can text, surf the web, update facebook and even do our shopping on these things. So can you imagine how tragic it would be to lose or even damage our phone? With how small smartphones have become, getting it lost or stolen is certainly a possibility. Well, you know what? "There's an app for that". heh. Sorry, just had to say it.

The Sprint Total Equipment Protection App can definitely help is difficult situations like these. If you've lost your phone, the app can locate it for you. Or if it's stolen, you can peform a "remote wipe" to protect your privacy. The app can also lock and even sound an alarm remotely as well. Having something like this on your phone definitely provides peace of mind. Normally the TEP plan is offered to new customers but for the month of August, Sprint is opening up enrollment for any Sprint customer that's interested in the protection plan. TEP costs $8 per month which gets you the protection App as well as provide a quick and convenient way to replace a stolen or damaged phone even well after the warranty expires. But hurry, current Sprint customers have until the end of the month to sign up.

Feel a bit richer by owning a Straight Talk android phone

With the constant barrage of advertising from wireless providers and cell phone manufacturers, it seems that the world has gone smartphone crazy. I guess the marketing campaign is working since even my second grader thinks he himself "needs" a droid. And yes, I totally agree, smartphones are very useful "on the go" since you have access to gps-enabled maps, email and wireless web. What I'm not so keen on is the extra cost of wireless web/data access which most providers consider an "add-on" to their regular monthly plan. And if you choose to go with one of the major providers, you have to commit yourself to paying their premium monthly rates for a full two years. Now that's a huge commitment especially in this day and age where a lot can change in a two year.

Well, there's an alternative for those in search for an affordable way to own a smartphone. Straight Talk is currently offering the Samsung Galaxy Precendent for only $149.99. Need a qwerty keyboard? no problem, they also have a LG Optimus Q for $179.99. Either way, you'll finally have The power of Android in the palm of your hand. The great thing about Straight Talk is that they keep their plans simple with no hidden fees and no "add-on" charges to worry about. For their android phones, you simply pay $45 a month. That's right, $45 a month which includes unlimited voice, text AND DATA! Just think, no more worrying about overages or running out of minutes. And to top it all off, there's no contract to commit to. Come on, what more can you ask for?

And don't you dare think that these are somehow "dumbed-down" version of an android phone. No, Straight Talk's android phones can pretty much do what any other droid phone can do with full access to apps, games and social networks. Honestly by cutting your monthly phone bill in half, you do Feel Richer with Android, all thanks to Straight Talk.

Bring home T.G.I. Friday's with their new Entrees for One

Life gets hectic, that's a given. No matter how hard you try, sometimes things just don't go as planned. But that's OK, especially now that T.G.I. FRiDAY’S “Entrées for One” are available. I keep several of these frozen meals on hand in my freezer just for those unexpected occasions where we're short on time and in need of something decent to eat.

T.G.I. Friday's is shaking things up in the frozen food aisle. Who says a frozen meal has to taste bland? Well, "Entrees for One" is all about bold new flavors and unexpected combinations. There are nine new choices including "Cajun-Style Chicken Alfredo", "Sizzling Chicken Fajitas" and "Prime Rib Stroganoff". My Favorite is the Chicken Fajita meal which actually comes with flour tortillas and tastes just what you'd get at a restaurant. It gets a big thumbs up from me and worth picking up from your local grocery store.

Oh and don't forget to check out T.G.I Friday's on facebook. They're currently running a Fun Freezer contest where the winner gets a 42" HDTV with a Sony Surround sound system. Be sure to vote for your favorite decked out refrigerator/freezer. Obviously there are a lot of creative T.G.I Friday's fans.
